No More Pencils No More Books...

Took my final exam today and boy is my cerebral cortex tired! The final was comprehensive and I really hate having to remember things I could barely learn the first time around, but we were told what was going to be on it-questions from previous tests. I made the mistake of assuming she was going to give the old tests back when she had posted the questions online over the weekend. Shows how well I pay attention. I spent the past couple days cramming. I think I'll pass the class. Probably. Maybe. Knock on wood.

Next Monday I start back on full time. I couldn't be more thrilled if I came down with some weird flesh eating disease. Every day in every way I hate the casino more and more but I need the money. I'm struggling to pay bills. Just try finding a gas station attendant that will accept your immortal soul as payment for a full tank of gas! They won't even take sexual favors anymore. Well, not for gas. You can still get a pack of Twinkies and a diet coke for a quickie in the storage room...or so I've heard..(insert embarrassed cough here).

Speaking of gas prices, I read something interesting in the Times-Picayune. The Prez is pushing for the lifting of restrictions on oil drilling. I find it odd that he's all for drilling in new areas when the oil companies are "sitting on 68 million acres of federal land and waters where oil and gas companies own leases, but aren't producing oil". The Dems plan on voting some kind of "use it or lose it" legislation that will probably be vetoed if it even makes it to the office. I'm no tree hugger but I do have enough intelligence to realize that we should use the wells already drilled and make preparations for the day when those wells dry out by finding alternatives. But what do I know? I just have a brain.
